Can you assist me regarding E3 visas for Australians. I am a fully qualified midwife and registered nurse with 17 years experience (12 in maternity/midwifery) holding a batchelor of nursing degree (same as BSN) and diploma of midwifery. Would I be eligible to apply for labor and delivery RN (obs nurse) positions at certain hospitals in the U.S which require a minimum of a bsn (batchelors) degree in this field? Although a BSN isn’t always required for these positions many :magnet status hospitals and other require this as a minimum standard for education for the position of L&D RN.

I applied for psw tier 1 visa alongside my husband and was rejected for the reason stated below:
“The office has attempted and has been unable to verify the document stated above that you have supplied using standard procedures. In light of this I am unable to take this document into consideration.”
Do you advice to go for Adminstrative review or to reapply.
What documents should I get from the bank to prove that I have enough maintainance funds.

Hi Mario, thanks for your replies. I will persue a couple of options, I think. One, maybe my employer can sponser me, or two, see if I’m eligible for permanent residency, (that would be my preference). Thanks. Regards, Nigel.

But if you have studied to degree level and have skills that are required in Australia there is no reason why you shouldn't be eligible for some type of work visa. My situation is, I am 49 years old, I’ve been living and working in Queensland now for 18 months. I have a 457 visa which will expire in October 2011. I am a welder. Although I’m still doing this work, I’m no longer with the Company that sponsored me to obtain my visa. My question is, how easy or difficult would it be for me to obtain another visa, or preferably, permanent residency? I would like to stay in Australia, for a while longer, if it’s possible….

I have always been a legal and I am a Zambian citizen and have been studying in Australia for thee years. I have just given birth to a baby with non Australian citizen who has run away. Away from that. I was about graduate but have failed two subject in which case I will need to re-write. Can I apply for a work permit or residence permit? What are my options? Please advise.
