On Friday the High Court ruled that the current cap on UK visas is unlawful.
It means that strict limits and lengthy delays in UK visa applications were all for nothing, and – depending on whether the government seeks a Supreme Court appeal – the cap will likely be lifted for the remaining months leading up to the permanent UK immigration cap in April 2011.

Yesterday UK lawmakers approved a controversial hike in university fees, sparking wild riots by students in the streets.
By removing the cap on university tuition fees, the government has effectively rubber-stamped steep rises in fees.

As predicted last month, the limit on Tier 1 UK visas has already been reached for December – just seven days into the month.
