Volcano ash update: Flights resumed

x-planeThose that have been caught up in the grounding of flights over the last 5 days were given a little bit of respite today when the first commercial flights started to take to the air.

The news was welcomed on all sides of the UK as those wishing to return are now also allowed to travel into the country.

The news however was received with slightly less enthusiasm by some. A couple traveling back from the south of Spain were told that the cost of a flight back would be £2,300. Are we now in the grip of a severe shift in market forces? As airlines sell their seats to the highest bidder?
