Ireland Business Visa
This type of visa service for Ireland is closest in terms of duration to an Irish visit visa, often variously referred to as an Irish tourist visa, travel visa or visitor visa. Both are valid for a maximum duration of 90 days and neither permits the applicant to undertake employment whilst in the country. However, due to the business-orientated aspect of business visas for Ireland, applications have additional requirements.
In Ireland, immigration is in general a less complicated process than travelling to many other nations. Ireland's immigration services are relatively young and have come as a response to a rapid growth in immigration to Ireland in recent years. In comparison to many other popular destinations, those who wish to visit or immigrate to Ireland for any length of time face a comparatively streamlined range of visa services.
However, whether you intend to relocate to Ireland on a long-term basis or just for a short visit, ensuring that you apply for a visa which best suits your individual needs is essential. At Global Visas, we can help you to obtain a range of Irish visas and services for Irish immigration. We can help you to secure anything from an Irish visitor visa for tourism to permanent residence in Ireland and the opportunity to apply for Irish citizenship. Benefits
In Ireland, business visas do not constitute work authorization, and unlike applying for an Irish work permit or an Irish Green Card, both of which are designed for living and working in Ireland, business visa applications do not permit successful applicants to commence working in Ireland.
However, holders are permitted to engage in a range of business related activities including attending conferences and business meetings, and conducting business negotiations. In summary, Irish business visas are distinguished from work visas in that a candidate in possession of the former cannot be paid. Applicants holding this type of entry clearance will not be working in Ireland but the nature of the trip will be connected to their work in their country of residence.
Eligibility Requirements
Like Irish tourist visas, visiting Ireland on a business permit requires the criteria listed below to be fulfilled:
- Applicants must provide a current passport from their country of residence. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the proposed date of departure from Ireland.
- Reinforcing the temporary nature of an application for a visa of this kind, applicants must be able to demonstrate their intention to return to their country of residence. This can usually be satisfied through proof of employment, bank accounts, or evidence of family commitments.
In addition, when making a business visa application, the following specific requirements must be adhered to:
- A letter of invitation must be provided. This must come from the relevant Irish company and must give details of the purpose, proposed activities, and duration of the stay.
- A letter must also be provided from the applicant's current employer. This must confirm that the trip is being undertaken on behalf of the company and that the candidate will return to their usual employment beyond the duration of the visit.
- Applicants must also provide evidence of where they will be staying during their time in Ireland.
- Confirmation must be provided of who will take responsibility for expenses during the stay.
Spouse immigration and Dependent immigration
For temporary permits of this kind, no specific provision is made for the immediate family members of the applicant to enter the country with them. In Ireland, visas of this type are only valid for three months and all applicants must apply in their own right.
Processing Times
Whilst processing times and fees are subject to change, for most nationals we can obtain a business permit in 7-10 working days. However, this may vary based upon the nationality of the applicant. Ireland does not currently offer a fast-track processing option. A Global Visas immigration consultant will be able to advise you on processing times and fees.
