New Zealand A to Z
All Blacks
The All Blacks are the national rugby union representative team of New Zealand. They are a cultural icon of New Zealand internationally.
The All Blacks are most known world-wide for performing the Hakka (Maori war dance), before each international match.
For much of the 20th century, rugby union appeared to be New Zealand's national religion, with selection to the All Blacks perhaps more highly regarded than a knighthood.
The All Blacks have always been recognised as a formidable power in world rugby.
Anzac Day
This is a New Zealand and Australian day of remembrance on the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli by the Australia and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) in World War I.
ANZAC day is celebrated on 25 April each year.
Aotearoa
