Isabel Lucas boosts Australia immigration
Baywatch star, Isabel Lucas is going to appear in a $7.3 million television ad campaign to promote Melbourne as a destination for tourists.
The city of Melbourne has risen above Sydney in popularity with Australians as a holiday destination. Often it is with holiday makers who are on are short weekend ‘escapes’.
Recently Melbourne became more popular than Sydney for people making the move to Australia due to the affordability of housing there.
The ad will be broadcast across all of Australia and will reinforce Victoria and Melbourne as top destinations for Australians.
The region has remained popular even during the recession. The aim of the ad is to help its success continue and have a positive knock-on effect on Australian immigration to the area, attracting skilled migrants with job prospects in a growing economy.
Isabel Lucas, who will be starring in the ad, is known by most as the character Tasha Andrews from the show Home and Away.
