Australia visa opportunites
Despite the global economic downturn and growing unemployment, there are still plenty of Australian visas for international business owners who are considering buying a firm or starting a new company in Australia.
The Australian business migration programme welcomes foreign business people to towns and cities across the country.
Government support for small companies was introduced in the form of AU$720 million in cash flow relief in the May budget and optimism among SMEs remains strong, according to a survey of Western Australian SMEs carried out by the Small Business Development Corporation.
Many regions offer incentives for Australia visa applicants doing business, including discounted education for their children and other financial assistance packages.
In 2008 alone, some 6,565 Australian visas for business were granted by Australian immigration, up 12.5% in the year before.
The number of business visas available for next year is unlikely to be capped further as the influx of skilled foreigners looking to work in Australia or set up a firm brings cash into the country and creates jobs for local people.
Successful Australian visa applicants will first receive a business visa for four years; after which time, if they have successfully established their business or employment, they can apply for permanent residency for themselves and their families.
