Australian Immigration Minister Welcomes both Skilled and Unskilled Migrants

The booming Australian economy is ultimately reliant on foreign workers; this is the view of the Australian government as highlighted by immigration minister Chris Evans at the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy in Perth this week.
Evans has emphasised the need for both skilled and unskilled workers to migrate to Australia in order to keep up with the current labour demands, reports www.globalvisas.com, experts in global mobility.
As Evans says, "The question of whether or not temporary and unskilled foreign labour is needed to sustain our economy has been answered. Business will have to shut down in some cases unless we can get that labour.
This follows the government's decision this week to grant more temporary 457 visas than ever before. This visa in particular supplies jobs that the economy is reliant on, for example in the mining industry.
Evans has also suggested that the occupations listed on the current skills points test needs to be amended to deal with current labour shortages.
Sectors which would benefit the most from the influx of immigrants are hospitality, agriculture and the elderly care industry.
