Australian immigration grant visa to Santa Claus
December 17 2008 by Bryan Palmer
Santa has been granted an Australian visa by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) to engage in highly specialised, limited work in Australia this Christmas, much to the delight of children across the country.
The DIAC says the department supports Santa’s work and that the Australian visa has been granted due to the happiness and economic benefit Santa has brought on his previous visits.
He has also always shown compliance to the conditions of his past visas. The department itself says it has raised over $50,000 for charitable cause in support of the Christmas spirit and Santa’s visit.
Santa will be receiving a temporary, State Sponsored business visa (subclass 465).
