Australia visa holders have variety

Gap-year travellers, backpackers and budget travellers love to visit Australia. A total of 21 countries, including the US and the UK, have reciprocal agreements with Australia immigration that enable young people to work in Australia in a range of temporary jobs while travelling the country for up to a year.

Australian visas for working holidays allow 18-30 year-olds great freedom and there are many fantastic work opportunities for these young people to try as they travel.

Australian industry also benefits from this influx of seasonal and manual workers - some industries, including fruit picking, may not even survive without temporary Australian work visa holders.

Once their Australian visa for a working holiday is approved, backpackers and travellers have three months to arrive in Australia. But by the time they arrive, few have found jobs to start. As a result, many simply turn up and apply for work once they arrive.

Jobs such as fruit picking, bar tending, waiting tables, childcare, cleaning and construction are plentiful for temporary workers. However, more challenging roles such a those in hotel management, diving instruction, nursing, and marketing can be found for people who can demonstrate they have the skills and training to do the job.

So, whether travellers are looking to enhance their CV with a challenging role or want to try a more relaxed job in a bar or on a farm with their friends, they are bound to find a perfect holiday job on their visa for Australia.
