Bobby Long gets his Canada visa
The musician Bobby Long has received the happy news that his Canadian work visa has been approved. Long, who had initially postponed his Vancouver concert, has now been able to reschedule the gig for September 7th.
Bobby, who will celebrate his 24th birthday shortly after he arrives back from his Canadian tour, will also play in Montreal on September 5th and in Toronto on September 6th. On his Myspace page, Bobby describes his music as being like “a crash in the woods when it’s raining.”
The musician’s manager, Phil Taylor, made the announcement about Bobby’s Canadian visa approval on Monday, commenting: "Bobby and I are really happy that we have been able to sort the visa’s out, we owe a lot of thank you’s to lots of people for making this all happen so fast.
Mostly we would like to thank the fans for their enduring support and endless patience.”
While he will play and work in Canada, Bobby is also booked to play live on Good Morning Canada, and to tape a live session for MTV Canada.
Bobby has already obtained a US work permit to undertake his "Dangerous Summer Tour" in July. This consisted of 80 shows in various American cities. His tour schedule will see him applying for another American visa in October, followed by an Australian work permit in January.
The musician lists among his influences: Laurel Fulson, Jack Teagarden, Gram parsons, Emmy Lou Harris, The Band, Skip James, Van Morrison, Terry Reid, Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Tom Waits.
