Are you a qualified care-giver, capable of looking after children, elderly people or people with disabilities? Do you dream of a new life and a full-time job in Canada, in a safe and secure home, with salary and working conditions better you could ever have dreamt?

If have a high school education as well as six months care-giving experience or one year of full-time work experience in Caregiving, the Canadian Live-In Caregiver Program might be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

What’s more, after 24 months of employment you will be eligible for permanent residence.

In 2007 over 11,878 caregivers successfully applied for a Canada visa and are now living and working their way to permanent residence.

Caregivers live with their employers and are responsible for daily chores of taking care of their employer and family (this might include children), preparing food and assisting with personal hygiene.

Caregivers are paid full-time wages that meets the provincial minimum wage (between $8-10 Canadian dollars per hour) with the possibility of overtime and bonuses as well as vacation pay and great working conditions.

Caregivers have access to a health and medical plan for the duration of their Canada visa.

Employers are monitored and must provide financial evidence as proof they can pay wages.

After 24 months of employment, to be spent within three years, caregivers can apply for permanent residency with Canada immigration for themselves and their families, something other temporary workers can not do.
