The Canadian High Commission has issued a news release to state that, as of September 1st 2009, it will only accept machine readable passports for Canadian visa applications from Guyana.
The Republic of Guyana, which is located in the Caribbean near Trinidad and Tobago, has a website - which contains information about how to apply for a new Guyanese passport.
The news release issued by The Canadian High Commission states that the hours of service for the Immigration Section to accept completed visa applications are Mondays to Thursdays, 8:30 am to 11:00am.
Would-be holders of Canadian visas have also been advised to visit the website www.trinidadandtobago.gc.ca for further information on Canadian immigration and visa requirements. This website also contains application forms which can be downloaded.
Making the move to Canada from Guyana and its surrounding areas is likely to increase in popularity over the coming years. The most recent World Population Data Sheet from the Population Reference Bureau stated that the US and Canada would account for most of the population growth in the developed world and that half of this would come solely from immigration.
