UK immigration changes to Tier visas
The government has updated its implementation plan for Tier 4 of the points-based UK visa system.
The changes which will come into effect on 21 August and are revised guidance for employers and educational institutions who sponsor workers and students on a UK visa.
The modifications are in response to the high rate of visa applications rejections by UK immigration.
The changes also include modified laws on overseas student’s maintenance requirements.
From 21 August all overseas students will be allowed to use a bank account in their parent’s name to evidence that they meet the maintenance requirement.
Before only allowed students applying under the child student route, up to the age of 18-years old to use their parent’s bank account to evidence that they satisfy the maintenance requirement.
A full list of the changes announced today is available on the UK Border Agency website.
