Comedian Ben Elton announces move to Australia

Ben Elton announces plans to move to Australia with his wife and three children.
Anti-establishment
comedian Ben Elton has announced that he is leaving the UK to live in Australia full-time.
Ben and his wife, an Australian saxophonist, along with their
three young children, are moving to Australia next month. They have chosen the
western Australian region of Fremantle in a move that will finally allow them
all to settle in one place, rather than splitting their family between the two
countries.
The family own a large house in Fremantle and Elton already
holds duel British/Australian citizenship, however they have been living in the
UK for the past five years. Elton explained, 'the kids have been at the local
school in Sussex. But we are going to swap that around. We are going to relocate
back to Freeo and live in Australia for a while.”
Elton’s decision to
move to sunnier climes will not come as too much of a surprise to those who are
familiar with his style of humour. Many of his jokes, as well as his books and
plays, criticise the British government. He was an outspoken opponent to the
Thatcher government of the 1980s and has also criticised the current Labour
government for meddling, as well as for their handling of the credit crunch and
the recession.
