Legal snag for UK visa cricketers

UK visa wrangle for cricketers
Three Pakistani lawyers travelling to the Lawyers Cricket World Cup were ruled unable to play when they were denied UK visas.
English lawyers cleared up the visa confusion and the team was allowed to enter the UK. They are now safely at the international charity competition in Cambridge, England.
A spokesman from the organising committee said:
"With a great deal of help from the Bar Council this problem has been overcome and we shall welcome the Pakistanis who seem to face more problems than the rest of us."
The competitors, who represent 12 countries and not only Pakistan, travelled to Cambridge on July 25 for the opening match two days later.
The final cricket match and closing ceremony will be held August 4 at the Oval ground in London.
UK law states that a valid UK tourist visa is required by all visitors entering the country from overseas and outside the EU.
