UK Tier 2 work visa report
A report commissioned by the British Home Office to investigate the Tier 2 visa is due for publication this month.
The research is being carried out by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) who submitted its final report. The report will be published on the UK Border Agency website on 19 August.
Anne Ball, secretariat from the MAC, said:
“The government asked the MAC to report on the following questions by end of July 2009:
Is there an economic case for restricting Tier 2 to shortage occupations only?
What is the Committee's assessment of the economic contribution made by the dependants of the points-based system migrants and their role in the labour market?”
The report is set to affect any future applicants who want to move to the UK and obtain an application for a UK work visa.
