Malaysia the target for a new Canada immigration initiative to entice students to The Great White North.

A group of educational institutions from Canada are set to visit Malaysia to promote studying in Canada to young people who may be considering applying for a Canadian visa to allow them to study abroad.

Millions of young people decide to study in another country each year, with people from Asia particularly keen to experience living in Canada, Australia or the UK in order to experience a different culture, access the best education and learn English.

Representatives from more than 20 institutions will be presenting at events in Kuala Lumpur on 23-24 January, then they will travel to Kuching for an event on 26 January at the Hyatt Regency hotel from 2pm.

Delegates from the Canadian immigration department will also be on hand to help guide interested students on applying for a Canadian student visa. Guidance will also be offered on what is required for acceptance onto a course starting this coming September.

Courses including engineering, computer science, biotechnology and actuarial science will be showcased in the hope that students will be attracted to study in Canada. Studying in Canada can offer students the opportunity to live in Canada permanently after they finish their studies.
