Emigrating to Canada offers best experience says new survey

Emigrating to Canada and Australia from the UK has been rated the preference for expats.
Canada and
Australia have been rated as the best places to live as an expat, further
cementing the two countries as popular destinations for prospective UK immigrants.
The research carried out by HSBC bank rated 26 countries with
regard to several factors that are important to expats, including education,
assimilation, crime, free-time activities and lifestyle.
The survey
questioned 5,000 expats from 50 countries and found that the top-ranking
countries were those that make efforts to help people settle in and where the
quality of life is better.
Survey commissioner David Norton suggested
that even though finances are important to expats, lifestyle may be even more
important. “What is clear is that the locations where salaries may not be as
high, such as Canada and Australia, are where expats are really enjoying not
only an increased quality of life but are also finding it easy to fit in to
their new communities,” he said.
Many people from the UK emigrate to Canada and Australia each year and most have a wonderful experience. The survey’s
respondents said Canada was particularly strong in terms of being a great place
to raise children. It was also ranked highly for lifestyle, career prospects and
lack of crime.
