England rugby fly-half considers move to Australia
February 15 2010 by Liam Clifford
Danny Cipriani, England’s fly-half, is looking into the possibility of moving to Australia.
The 22-year-old rugby pro has fallen out of favour with
England manager Martin Johnson and his contract with Wasps is up in May 2010,
leaving him the option of looking for opportunities elsewhere. This is despite
rumours that Wasps are offering him an improved contract for next
season.
Cipriani has already attended talks with Super 15 franchise team
the Melbourne Rebels, according to the Times newspaper. The team’s coach Rod
Macqueen said he is targeting Cipriani, along with ten other foreign players, to
go and work in Australia for the next rugby season.
He stated, "Danny is
obviously the type of player we would like. He is a very talented individual and
one of the players who has the skill-set that would be suitable to Super 15. He
seemed very interested.”
Danny has a high-profile relationship with
actress and TV personality Kelly Brook. Many of the papers are now wondering if
Brook will be applying for her own Australian visa to enable her to join
him Down Under.
