A new TV food programme is coming to the UK which will give viewers an insight into the Australian lifestyle.

Tourism Australia hopes that Bill’s Holiday, presented by Australian chef Bill Granger, will promote the country for people who want to move to Australia as a place to go on holiday or even to emigrate.

Bill’s Holiday will start broadcasting on the Good Food channel on 20th July, and will be shown daily on weeknights. The seven-part series will follow the chef as he travels around Australia and introduces the cuisine of each region. During the series, Granger explores tropical North Australia, the Red Centre and the more temperate south. The cuisine that features on the show includes delicacies such as salt bush lamb, sweet mandarins and squid fresh from the ocean.

Tourism Australia hopes that viewers will think about obtaining an Australian ETA visa or even a permanent Australian work visa while they are watching the show, which also features 40 of Granger’s favourite recipes which can be made at home.

The show has been timed to coincide with the discount season on flights to Australia. During the Australian off-peak season, several of the big airlines are offering cheaper rates on flights to Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and other major Australian cities.

Catch Bill's Holiday for a taste of Australia and one that may just get you thinking about obtaining an Australian visa for a more permanent move.
