It's a good time to move to the US for home buyers

More home buyers may move to the US

House prices in the US are beginning to pick up, according to new figures from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

House prices have been falling since the economic crisis began in 2007, but it seems that the market may finally have bottomed. If the trend continues. now could be the best time to buy a property in the US.

People looking to move to the US for work or who wish to buy investment property can now do so more confidently. House prices are likely to rise further over the coming months as the country recovers from the recession.

FHFA statistics show that house prices rose between April and May 2009 by a seasonally adjusted 0.9 per cent. The news will be welcomed by those wanting to move to the US and supports predictions treasury secretary Tim Geithner made earlier this month.

"We have a very good chance for seeing the US economy get back to the point where it’s going to start growing again in the next two or three quarters," he said.
