Irish recruitment expert Mairead Fleming says that finding work in Canada is easier than in other countries, offering some of the best opportunities to people who wish to move abroad for a new life.

An increasing number of people feel that they would either like to try living in the US, Canada or Australia for a few years to work or study or would like to start a completely new life in entirely new surroundings. Many feel that countries like Australia, South Africa or Canada offer an outdoors lifestyle that is healthier and better for children to grow up in.

However the practicalities of life mean that people need good jobs to pay for them to go through Canadian immigration as well as their new lifestyle.

Fleming, the director of Irish recruitment firm Brightwater, said that Canada is full of opportunities.  She said:  “Canada is very big right now. It hasn't been affected by the worldwide recession in the way that Ireland and the UK have been.”

She says that people who have suffered as a result of the recession while living in the UK could prosper if they made the move to Canada due to skills shortages there.

Fleming explains, "There are plenty of opportunities for accountants and that's good news for people who worked in the 'big four' firms here who didn't get their contracts renewed. Yes, Canada is the place to go to right now.”
