Ja Rule granted Australia visa
Rapper Ja Rule has been granted his Australia visa after it was denied to him in July.
Ja Rule was forced to cancel a gig at Lunar Park in Sydney in July after Australian immigration denied him a work visa. The original gig was scheduled to happen yesterday (August 25th) One day after the cancelled gig, he has only just been granted permission to enter the country.
Australian immigration is well known for being strict with celebrities who have a criminal record. Ja Rule punched a man and was taken to court over the matter. He has also been arrested on drug charges. But now that Australian immigration has deemed Ja Rule not to be a threat to national security, he will be performing on August 28th.
The previous failure to secure a working visa was apparently due to a “delay in visa processing” but no there was no more detailed explanation given. The decision was thought by many as strange as Ja Rule has toured twice in Australia before.
Ja Rule has released six albums and popular songs include “Wonderful” and “Holla Holla”.
Ja Rule’s real name is Jeffery Atkins and he was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness by his mother.
Of his upcoming Austral gig, Ja Rule said: “The album was leaked already so I'm really just putting it out there for the people who didn't really get a chance to hear it.”
