Channel 4 is to make a four part program fronted by Phil Spencer on the growing popularity of Brits on the move to Australia.

‘Phil Down Under’ will be filmed as the Location, Location, Location presenter sells his own property in the UK and relocates to Australia with his wife and two young sons.

Phil plans to look for his own home and help other families as they move to Australia, navigating the Australian visa process and the property market down under.

"This show will put his passion for property and Oz together. We'll also see him search for his own place as he tries to find the reality of living in Australia, rather than just going there on holiday," explains a Channel 4 spokesperson

While the property market in the UK has slowed since the recession, the market in Australia has remained buoyant and relatively unscathed mainly due to the Australian government paying AUS$21,000 towards the cost of a house for first time home buyers.
