More Canadian work visas for Czechs announced
January 08 2010 by Liam Clifford
Canada immigration announce revised proposals for Czech citizens.
Canadian immigration
has announced it will be making more Canadian work visas available for young
Czechs as part of the Youth Mobility Programme. The decision has been made in
response to growing interest in the programme from young people from the Czech
Republic.
Within the programme, 18-35-year-olds from the Czech Republic
can work in Canada for up to a year, giving them the opportunity to live in
Canada and experience its culture while earning money to pay for their
trip.
The number of work permits available to Czech youths through the
programme has been increased to 1,200, up from 1,000 last year. The programme
was first launched in the autumn of 2007 and since its launch some 1,325 young
Czechs have taken the opportunity for the temporary Canadian work
visas.
The applications for the Canadian visas are to be made at the
Canadian embassy in Prague and each applicant is actually able to take part in
the programme twice but has to enter in two different categories to do
so.
People working in Canada under the programme are not able to extend
their visas, as they can with other Canadian work visas.
