More jobs for Australian work visa holders as confidence booms

Work in Australia is thriving
Confidence among small businesses in Western Australian is increasing, according to the Sensis Business Index. This confidence is likely to translate to an increase in jobs for Australian work visa holders going forward.
The latest quarterly survey of business owners’ views on the economy was devised from the responses of 1,800 firms interviewed between 18 August and 4 September 2009.
The index score jumped 17 per cent to 52 per cent, which is two percentage points above the national average for business confidence.
The author of the report, Christena Singh, said, “Business confidence has jumped strongly in WA during the quarter and is now above the national average. We have not seen business confidence at this level in WA since May 2008."
Singh says that much of the confidence comes from small business owners seeing plenty of new work coming in. As a result, many will be hoping to increase their workforce in response to increasing demand as recovery sets in. This will mean more opportunities for immigrants looking to work in Australia.
The report stated, "WA businesses are expecting profitability and sales to grow strongly during the coming quarter, to levels not seen in more than 12 months."
