N-Dubz front man denied US work visa

Dappy, the front man of urban pop band N-Dubz, says he is unable to get a US work visa to allow the band to crack into America.

The 'hip-pop' band says the US visa problems are a “massive setback” according to a source speaking to The Sun newspaper. The source explained, "a lot of US label chiefs have been over to see the band and have been making serious noises about breaking N-Dubz in America.” The source continued, “but Dappy has got a fairly colourful past, which is causing problems with the visa. He is gutted but he is confident it can all be sorted."

The ‘colourful past’ refers to Dappy’s criminal record, which he received in 2008 for a ‘drunken altercation.’ He was given a suspended jail sentence and is now most likely living to regret his actions.

The three band members, who have enjoyed huge success this past year, were scheduled to fly to New York to meet L.A Reid, the US record boss who made R'n'B star Pink a global success.

Other celebs who have found themselves in trouble when applying for a US visa include Amy Winehouse, comedian Russell Brand and Brit rockers Oasis.
