Obama's aunt will know her fate on Thursday.

A federal US immigration judge will rule this Thursday on the fate of Barack Obama’s aunt.
Zeituni Onyango, 57, has been living in the United States illegally for the past 6-years. It was in 2002 that she applied for political asylum from her native country Kenya, however this application was refused by US immigration.
She was ordered to leave the country in a ruling in 2004, this she ignored and it is since this date that she has been an illegal citizen of the country.
The aunt of Barack Obama whom he describes as a ‘distant aunt’ has received no support from her aforementioned nephew and he is thus far yet to comment on the case.
The hearings which have been taking place in Boston, Massachusetts are being presided over by Judge Leonard Shapiro. The judge, who was appointed as an immigration judge in December 1990, has a very distinct record in cases involving asylum. From 2004-2009 he presided over 867 asylum claims, of those he granted 283 and denied 581, this translates as a 67% refusal rate for claims such as Ms. Onyango’s.
The defendant has claimed that if deported she will face the threat of kidnap and death due to the position her nephew now holds.
