Plenty of work in Canada following creation of thousands of new jobs

Unemployment in Canada decreases again as more people move to Canada.

There was good news this week for anyone considering a move to Canada. The country revealed that it added 79,000 new jobs in November, lowering unemployment to 8.5 per cent.

These indications that the recession in Canada is well and truly on its way out are a relief to many, especially those who may be looking for work in Canada after recently moving there on a Canadian visa.

The private sector was where most of the job creation took place, with many jobs being added in the manufacturing and finance industries. Full-time employment rose by 38,600 during the month, while 40,400 more people became employed on a part-time basis.

The three provinces of Quebec, Alberta and Ontario – all of which are popular destinations for Canadian visa holders – saw the greatest number of job creations. Ontario alone gained 27,000 jobs over the month of November, while Quebec also added a huge 21,000 jobs.

In addition, the country’s GDP figures from Statistics Canada showed that the country’s economy grew by an annualised rate of 0.4 per cent in the third quarter of the year.
