Foreign minister will investigate claims by Taiwanese nationals over unfair South African visa treatment
The foreign minister for South Africa, Timothy Yang, has said the South African ministry of foreign affairs will investigate whether Taiwanese nationals were dealt with unfairly when they made applications for South African visas, he will also decide whether changes need to be made.
Yang was at the Legislative Yuan’s Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee when he made the remarks in response to direct questions from Democratic Progressive party legislator Tsai Huang-lang, it centres on complaints that Taiwanese citizens were being treated like mainland Chinese nationals, when making applications for South African visas.
