Stephen Fry has revealed that he is looking for a place in LA.

Stephen Fry, the presenter, actor, comedian and writer, is thought of by many as a British institution. However, he is reported to be considering making a permanent move to the US.

Fry says he would be thrilled to gain US citizenship “if they’ll have me”. He said he has recently been looking for a house in Los Angeles to be nearer his former comedy partner Hugh Laurie, who has made a name for himself in the US by playing the lead in the hit series House.

Speaking at an awards ceremony in LA Fry exclaimed about his move to the US, "I'm looking for a place in LA. I do love America."

Fry recently filmed a series for the BBC called Stephen Fry In America, where he drove around all 50 states, clearly enjoying the experience and the company of the American people.

The speculation about Fry follows reports that comedian and writer Ben Elton is moving to Australia. This week he has caused much controversy after launching into a tirade against the royal family during an interview on Australian TV. He called the Queen a “sad little old lady" and Prince Phillip a “mad old bigot who wishes he was still in the war”.
