Student visa holders told to get UK visa letters in order
May 18 2009 by Robbie Ragless
The UK Border Agency has issued a reminder to would-be student visa applicants to check their UK visa letters before submitting their applications.
Foreign nationals who want to study in the UK must apply for a visa under Tier 4 of the new points-based UK immigration system. Applicants must provide a visa letter, which is an official offer letter from their education provider. The visa letter must accompany the UK visa application form in order to prove that the applicant is studying a course at an acceptable level with an approved education provider and can get 30 visa points.
The UK Border Agency has warned today: “If you are applying under Tier 4, please make sure that the visa letter issued to you by your approved education provider contains all of the required information as described in the tier 4 guidance.
If you send us an application with a UK visa letter that does not contain all the required information, we will refuse your application.”
A Tier 4 UK visa letter must contain details of the applicant and education provider, as well as details of the course to be studied and how that course will be paid for.
