Tourism Australia hopes to lure Canadian students to work in Australia for a year

Officials from Tourism Australia are hoping to lure Canadian university students to take a year out after study to work and move to Australia.
The Australian working holiday visas they are promoting allow
young people to work and travel their way around Australia for up to a year.
This is a great option for people who want to travel, gain work experience and
fund their journey in the process.
Daryl Hudson, Tourism Australia’s
vice-president for the Americas, says that it is a great idea to travel while
the job market is tough. He explains, "with such a tough job market at
home...now is the time for Canadian graduates to seriously consider taking a
trip to travel in Australia and pick up some work along the way."
He
continues, "after spending up to a year in Australia, graduates can return to
Canada with broadened horizons, a built-out resume and be more ready to approach
the workforce.”
Canada itself is a popular destination for working
holidays for people from all around the world, and particularly from the UK. As
the recession makes gaining that great graduate job even tougher than ever,
these year-long temporary work visas have been extremely attractive to many
graduates.
