UK immigration do not judge UK visa applications on 'nationality' says Lin Homer
The United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) Chief Executive, Lin Homer has criticised the claims from the media that “Pakistanis are more likely to be refused UK visas.”
'We do not discriminate against any individual nationality, to suggest otherwise is false. Applications from Pakistan are assessed in the same manner and against the same UK immigration rules as applications from every other nationality.’
She continued to say that, “Entry Clearance Officers consider each UK visa application on its individual merits and will refuse an application where they are not satisfied that the applicant meets the requirements of the visitor rules”
The UK Border Agency confirmed it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they meet the rules for UK visas and should provide adequate evidence to support the application.
In the case of rejected family visit UK visa applications, unsuccessful applicants also may have a right of appeal against the decision.
