UK immigration makes emergency provisions for special diploma students

Move to the UK for study
Emergency provisions have been made for students hoping to move to the UK to study after completing the International Baccalaureate (IB - a globally-recognised diploma from the IB Organisation based in Switzerland).
The UK Border Agency has announced that many IB students will not receive their award certificates in time to apply for a student visa to start studies in September 2009. As a result, UK immigration has introduced some emergency provisions to allow them to apply for student visas under Tier 4 of the points-based system.
The UKBA website instructs educational institutions, which are sponsoring IB students to study and live in the UK, to explain on the confirmation of acceptance that it they have confirmed the IB results using the IB office online system or through UCAS.
For universities and colleges that have already sent the letter of confirmation, a second letter must be sent explaining that results have been checked the same way.
Students must then provide print-outs of their results from the online checking systems when making their UK student visa application under Tier 4 of the points-based system. More details on the requirements are available from the UKBA.
