UK visa finally granted for South African husband and father
October 12 2009 by Liam Clifford
South African man is able to now move to the UK and be with his 10-week old daughter.
A South African father has finally been granted a UK visa, he will now be allowed to move to the
UK and meet his 10-week-old daughter
for the first time.
Andre Van Coller’s wife Helen received a letter last
week saying that a decision to reject his application for a UK visa had been withdrawn, enabling him to live
in the UK with his wife and
daughter.
The couple were married in South
Africa in March after first meeting in February 2007, while
Andre was living in the UK on
a UK visa. However, he wrongly assumed
his visa allowed him to work in the UK as a self-employed driver and had to return to
South
Africa to sort his visa
problems.
However, it has taken the best part of a year to gain
permission for Andre to return to the UK and in the meantime his daughter
Ellie was born in July. He had not seen his wife or child since the birth but
the two are now able to plan their future in the UK.
Helen
Van Coller remarked, “It is amazing. We thought we were only going to be
together for a short time on this trip but now we can be together forever and
start planning our future.”
