UK visa for Inter's Jimenez

Luis Jimenez granted UK visa
Luis Jimenez, the Chilean footballer currently signed to Inter Milan, has been granted a UK visa to enable him to play for a premiership club.
Both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have had their sights set on Jimenez as a loan from Inter Milan and he can now work in the UK after being awarded his work visa.
The UK visa was granted despite him having failed to play in 75% of Chile’s international games over the past two years. This is the required number of international games a player must be involved in to automatically qualify for a work permit.
Despite interest from its rivals, West Ham looks extremely likely to sign the player, with officials flying out to Milan to finish the paperwork on Monday.
The player has been largely on the bench for Jose Mourinho’s team, which has in turn prevented him from being spotted by Chile’s manager, Marcelo Bielsa, for many international games.
However, Jimenez is looking to join a team where he has a better chance of being in the starting 11 each game and a UK visa is likely to facilitate this.
