Dangerous gangs are targeted in Philadelphia, while dozens more arrested across the country.
US Immigration and Customs have announced the detention of sixteen people in Philadelphia, as part of a country-wide US immigration initiative.
The operation, codenamed Project Big Freeze, was targeted at those linked to gangs and believed to be in breach of immigration laws.
The arrests were part of a nationwide crackdown of people operating in breach of these laws, in total there have been 476 arrests since the initiative was launched.
The arrests in Philadelphia included 27 year-old Ukranian national Serhiy Hudz, a known member of the feared Warlocks motorbike gang.
Hudz has a long and chequered criminal record, which includes convictions for murder, aggravated assault, theft and receiving stolen property.
The 476 arrests across the country have been kept confidential as they are administrative immigration arrests, a US immigration and customs official said.
