Work in Australia boosted with thousands more jobs added in October
November 23 2009 by Liam Clifford
Time to pack up and ship out as thousands head off the recession by heading off to Australia to live and work.
The Australian economy is proving a force to be reckoned with
as news emerges that more jobs than expected were created in
October.
Choosing to up sticks and start a new life by moving to
Australia has remained a popular life decision throughout the recession and it’s
easy to see why as 24,500 more people became employed in Australia in October
alone.
These better-than-expected employment figures cement the country’s
economy as well and truly on the way to recovery, while the UK remains stuck in
recession. In fact, the employment figures have led the world’s economists to
predict that Australia may increase its interest rates to 3.75 per cent in
December after having become the first G20 economy to increase rates since the
beginning of the global recession, when it did so in October.
Moving to
Australia for work or study has become particularly attractive for UK graduates
as it becomes more and more difficult to find work in the UK – particularly in
more competitive industries.
Australian working holiday visas are a
popular choice for young graduates as they enable them to travel and work in
Australia for a year or more. They then have an opportunity to stay more
permanently if they can fulfil certain criteria.
