Work visas for skilled immigrants
According to immigration consultancies worldwide, young skilled work visa holders from India and elsewhere are seen as a valuable asset to the developed world.
The rapid ageing of populations across the developed world is set to continue until at least 2025. As a result, there are still plenty of opportunities for skilled workers from abroad to work in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia in industries that are suffering from skills shortages.
Lt Col Sandhu, the chairman and managing director of the World Wide Immigration Consultancy Services (WWICS) says: "Canadian visa policy and Australian visa policy are being altered in order to ensure these countries can attract immigrants to fill their projected skills shortages.
For example, visa applicants who are qualified in one of the professions listed on the skills shortage lists of either country get their applications fast-tracked to allow them to receive a decision on their work visas within a year.
For migrants who wish to work in Canada, obtaining a Canadian study visa to study in Canada can be a good initial option as many go on to find good jobs in Canadian industry. There are also several other routes to residency in Canada including the Canadian Federal Investor Programme, which is attractive to entrepreneurs who wish to get a visa and settle in Canada."
