Pathways to UK Recruitment

If you are not from the European Union then you will need a work visa to take up employment in the UK and these fall under a tier scheme. In general terms tier one is reserved for entrepreneurs, investors, those with exceptional talent and post study work. Tier two is for work visas for skilled migrants, tier three is for work visas for unskilled migrants, tier four is for student visas and tier five is for creative and sporting workers and the youth mobility scheme.

Most work visas will fall into tier two and to be eligible, generally, the candidate must have an occupation on the UK’s employment skills shortage list; a directory drawn up to help employers who cannot source people with the skills they need within the UK, recruit internationally. To find out if your occupation is on the list, contact the British Home Office or major recruitment agencies in the UK. Alternatively, for a faster, more convenient route take our free visa assessment.

If your occupation is not on the skills list, then you could still be eligible for a work permit if your employer can demonstrate that they cannot fill the position locally. To do so they must advertise the position for at least 28 days. If no suitable candidate is found then the company can apply for your sponsorship.

UK Recruitment Agencies

One of the best pathways to obtaining job is by contacting a major recruitment agency in the UK. The agency will know the local job market and can even give you interview tips and help with your CV. In addition, if you are from a particular sector there are agencies that specialise in healthcare, IT, banking, engineering, media and more.

As part of its service package Global Visas has now partnered with top international recruitment agencies to offer its own recruitment service. We endeavour to help our clients get ahead of the competition when searching for employment by cherry picking positions from the very best the international job market has to offer.
