If you do not have a trade on the shortage occupations list then you can still obtain a work visa if you pass a resident labour market test. To do this, your would-be employer must prove to the authorities that they cannot source someone with your skills locally by advertising the position for no less than 28 days. If no suitable candidate is found within the UK then the company can apply for sponsorship of an outside worker.
