US Student Work and Travel Program
The Student Work and Travel Program, or SWTP visa USA, is a youth exchange scheme exclusively for Australian and New Zealand post-secondary students and recent graduates.

The program allows young people from Australia and New Zealand to obtain a US visa to live and work in the country for up to 12 months, and for Americans to live and work in Australia and New Zealand.
The Student Work and Travel Program provides a way for students to experience new cultures whilst picking up essential life skills and supporting themselves through employment.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Student Work and Travel Program you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand
- Completed the first year at college/ university or,
- Graduated from college/ university within the previous 12 months,
- Provide proof of sufficient funds before coming to the US, to support yourself while you are looking for employment or in between breaks in employment,
- Not be accompanied by dependents.
Benefits
When the Student Work and Travel visa is granted it is valid for up to 12 months allowing participants to remain in the United States for the entire time.
Unlike other exchange visas, participants in the program are not required to return home in time for the academic school year to begin, and qualified post-secondary students can enter the United States at any time of the year.
